A practical method for obtaining cardiac-gated wall motion images of SPECT-generated myocardial sectional images
Description
This paper describes myocardial wall motion analysis of SPECT-generated myocardial sectional images which provides two additional parameters for evaluating wall motion that are not possible with standard gated wall motion studies utilizing a blood pool agent. In addition to wall motion itself, the SPECT-generated myocardial images demonstrate wall thickening and increased intensity of activity in the wall with normal contraction. The latter is probably due to an increased concentration of activity per unit volume of tissue during systole. The authors have developed a practical method for producing SPECT myocardial sectional images. They discuss it here
