Treatment of head and neck cancer, locally advanced, with pre-operative chemotherapy or pre-radiotherapy

Description

Patients with head and neck cancer, locally advanced, with any previous treatment, are evaluated in respect to chemotherapy with cis-platinum, mitomycina-C and bleomicine, having in view the surgery or the radiotherapy. The survival of this group is compared with a historical control which had undergone only radiotherapy and/or Surgery (M.A.C.)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Avalia-se a resposta de pacientes com carcinoma epidermoide de cabeca e pescoco, localmente avancados e virgens de tratamento, a um esquema quimioterapico ambulatorial (cisplatinum, mitomicina - C e bleomicina) com toxicidade toleravel e com intencao pre-operatoria ou pre-radioterapia. Compara-se a sobrevida deste grupo de pacientes com um grupo controle historico, com caracteristicas semelhantes, tratado de modo comvencional: radioterapia com ou sem cirurgia. (M.A.C.)
