Description
We discuss two generalizations of Lie algebras, i.e. quantum algebras and free differential algebras (FDA's), and their applications to physical models. In particular we review (i) the use of q-algebras in the construction of q-gauge and q-gravity theories; (ii) the use of FDA's in field theories containing antisymmetric tensors. (orig.)
