The isotopic composition of uranium in soils and plants from the environment of Seibersdorf, Lower Austria
Description
The determination of the ratio U-234/U-238 (γ) in soil samples and plant material is described; the method used for the extraction of the uranium from the samples is outlined briefly. The results of the α-spectrometric determinations of γ are listed. They show in certain cases an enrichment of the lighter isotope in plant ashes; a possible reason for this fact is discussed. (T.I.)
