On producing negative ion beams of magnesium and calcium in a cesium sputter source
Description
Moderately intense negative ion beams of magnesium and calcium hydrides have been generated by cesium beam sputtering of metallic cones while being sprayed with ammonia gas. The optimum yields for MgH- and MgH3- were 0.5 and 1.65 μA respectively and for CaH- and CaH3- 0.6 μA in both cases. (Auth.)
