Perturbed γ-γ directional correlations and the coordination chemistry of Hf: new aspects of the behaviour of Hf in the presence of high fluoride concentrations

Description
In solutions of Hf at high fluoride concentrations, the γ-γ directional correlation of 181Hf remains almost unperturbed. This result differed strongly from earlier observations of a strong perturbation in such systems, explained as a consequence of the formation of Hf-F polymers. It was shown that in these investigations the role of the Na+ ion had been overlooked, and that these strong perturbations are due to the formation of Na5Hf2 F13. (author)
