Description
Collective rotation is examined with the gauge-invariant periodic quantization method and the assumption that the rotation takes place about a fixed axis. A rotation spectrum of the form I2h/2I, where the moment of inertia I depends on the angular velocity of the rotation, is obtained together with a nonperturbative cranking Schroedinger equation for the intrinsic wave function
