Description
Lyoluminescence has been observed in amino acids, proteins, DNA and RNA following exposure to γ-rays. In some proteins and in nucleic acids it is also possible to induce lyoluminescence by irradiation with UV light. This effect can be utilised for the purpose of radiation dosimetry
