Description
The binding energy of nuclear matter is calculated within the Brueckner-Bethe-Goldstone theory using as realistic N-N interaction a separable version of the Argonne v14 potential. We examine the influence of the choice for the self-consistent auxiliary potential on the rate of convergence of the perturbation series. The results show that using the continuous choice gives a faster convergence than the standard choice. The same conclusion can be drawn from the results on the depletion parameter. The lowest-order potential insertions are evaluated in the perspective to study the three-body cluster contributions. (author)
