Description
Economy in Guangdong has experienced a continuous and high-speed development since China launched its reform and open-up program. During the 8th 5-year National Development Plan period (1990-1995), the average annual GDP and power generation growth rate reached 19.1% and 19.0%, respectively. In 1996, power generation increased by 8.9% and the total installed capacity in Guangdong has reached 26.31 GW by the end of 1996. After a short presentation of the necessity and possibility of developing nuclear power in Guangdong province the present status and the outlook for the coming decade are reviewed in this paper
