New ICRH system for TEXTOR compatible with ALT-II

Description

The new TEXTOR ICRH system compatible with the toroidal pump-limiter ALT-II, which will be installed, is outlined. The system includes two pairs of new low-field-side retractable antennae of the 'plug-in' type, four new interfaces between transmission line and antennae, and upgraded generators ( 2 x 2MW, 3s). Tuning problems resulting from possible cross-talk between antennae and from the phasing needed for ksub(||)-shaping and possibly current drive are discussed. For the existing ICRH system, the updated generator waveform control system is briefly described. (author)
