Investigation of interaction of phosphorotungstenvanadium heteropolyacids with sodium hydroxide by the methods of calorimetric and potentiometric titration

Description

Interaction of phosphorotungstenvanadium heteropolyacids (HPA) with alkali (NaOH) is studied by the methods of calorimetric and potentiometric titration. Three stages are singled out: 1) neutralization of ''strong'' hydrogen atoms with a constant thermal effect of 52.0+-1.6 kJ/mol; 2) neutralization of ''weak'' protons, which acidity constant is of order 10-2; 3) interaction of NaOH with hydrogen atoms combined with the internal sphere of HPA, and completed by HPA destruction. The data obtained are compared with the results, calculating the composition of polymer particles inside HPA, and they are discussed from the view point of their micellar structure
