Oxidation of group II metals by 3,5-di-tert.-butyl-1,2-benzoquinone

Description
Kinetics of zinc and cadmium oxidation by 3,5-di-tert.-butyl-1,2-benzoquinone (BQ) in the medium of dimethylformamide or dimethylsulfoxide was studied by the methods of ESR spectroscopy and resistometry. Thermodynamic parameters of oxidant and ligands adsorption on the surface of the above-mentioned metals were calculated. It is shown that oxidation of Zn and Cd using BQ is accompanied by formation of bis-o-semiquinolates of the metals. Методами ЭПР спектроскопии и резистометрии изучена кинетика окисления цинка и кадмия 3,5-ди-трет-бутил-1,2-бензохиноном (BQ) в среде диметилформамида или диметилсульфоксида. Рассчитаны термодинамические параметры адсорбции окислителя и лигандов на поверхности указанных металлов. Показано, что окисление Zn и Cd с использованием BQ сопровождается образованием бис-о-семихинолятов металлов.
