Improved limits on β- and β-β- decays of 48Ca

Description
New limits on 48Ca β- and β-β- decays to excited states of 48Ti have been obtained using a low-background HPGe detector and an external source of enriched CaF2 powder. The limits for β- decay to the 6+ ground state, excited 5+ and 4+ states in 48Sc are 1.6 x 1020 yr, 2.5 x 1020 yr, and 1.9 x 1020 yr at the 90% confidence level. For the β-β- decay to 48Ti the limits to the first 2+, second 2+ and first 0+ excited states are 1.8 x 1020 yr, 1.5 x 1020 yr, and 1.5 x 1020 yr again at the 90% confidence level

Получены новые пределы на 48Ca β- и β-β- распады в возбужденные состояния 48Ti с помощью Ge-детектора высокой чистоты и внешнего источника в виде порошка, обогащенного CaF2. Пределы для β- распада в 6+ основное состояние, 5+ и 4+ возбужденные состояния 48Sc равны 1.6 x 1020, 2.5 x 1020 и 1.9 x 1020 лет при 90% уровне достоверности. Пределы для β-β- распада в 2+ первое, 2+ второе и 0+ первое возбужденные состояния 48Ti равны 1.8 x 1020, 1.5 x 1020 и 1.5 x 1020 лет при том уровне достоверностиAdditional details
