Description

The average residence time (tau) of Ti, Zr, Hf atoms in d.c. arc plasma has been determined depending on matrix nature during spectral analysis of these elements. The electric field is the main factor, responsible for titanium and zirconium particle removal from the discharge zone. The expedience has been shown of using matrices from graphite powder with alkaline earth chloride additions and matrices of CaO, BaO, BaCl2, AlF3. These substances increase the value of tau that causes an increase in atomic line intensities
