Description
Room temperature high pressure angle dispersive X- ray diffraction data on zircon structured SmVO4 using Elettra synchrotron source were collected up to 21.6 GPa. The compound remains stable in the zircon phase till 3.0 GPa. At 3.3 GPa, the material undergoes structural phase transition to low symmetry phase. On pressure release the high pressure phase is quenchable. (author)
