The supply crisis triggered by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine has revived the discussion about extending the operating times of the three Konvoi plants still in operation and also the three other reactors that will be shut down at the end of 2021. Minister Habeck had announced a corresponding examination; on 7 March, his ministry, together with the Ministry of the Environment, presented a paper "Examination of the continued operation of nuclear power plants due to the war in Ukraine", which advises against such a plan.
Abstract (German)
Die durch den russischen Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine ausgelöste Versorgungskrise hat die Diskussion um eine Verlängerung der Laufzeiten der noch laufenden drei Konvoi-Anlagen und auch der drei weiteren Ende 2021 abgeschalteten Reaktoren wieder aufleben lassen. Minister Habeck hatte eine entsprechende Prüfung angekündigt; am 7. März legte sein Ministerium gemeinsam mit dem Umweltministerium ein Papier "Prüfung des Weiterbetriebs von Atomkraftwerken aufgrund des Ukraine-Kriegs" vor, das von einem solchen Vorhaben abrät.Additional details
