Determination of kinetic isotope effects by a polarimetric differential method
Description
The author describes one way of obtaining accurate ratios of rate constants. The method has been worked out in order to determine small kinetic isotope effects like sec. deuterium and carbon isotope effects. The main advantage of the method is that the isotopic species are present in the same reaction mixture, thus eliminating inter-experimental errors. (orig./HK)

Der Autor beschreibt ein Verfahren zur genauen Messung von Geschwindigkeitskonstantenverhaeltnissen. Das Verfahren wurde zur Bestimmung schwacher kinetischer Isotopieeffekte wie z.B. in Deuterium und Kohlenstoff entwickelt. Das Verfahren hat den Hauptvorteil, dass die Isotopenspezies im gleichen Relationsgemisch vorliegen, so dass interexperimentelle Fehler vermieden werden. (orig./HK)
