Polymerization of gaseous vinyl bromide by x-rays
Description
The polymerization of vinyl bromide was carried out using X-rays. The degree of polymerization of the liquid product is low, suggesting short kinetic chains. It is assumed that the termination of the growing polymer chains occurs through primary radicals and by deactivating transfer on the radiolysis products. Oxygen acts as an accelerator of the polymerization, nitric oxide has very little inhibitory effect on the polymerization, while ammonia increases the rate of disappearance of the monomer.
Abstract (French)
Additional details
