Two-dimensional lattice QCD in quenched approximation
Description
We study the spectra of 2-dimensional U(1) and SU(2) lattice gauge theories with quarks by the quenched Monte Carlo method. Masses of the lowest-lying pseudoscalar and scalar mesons in these theories are calculated for a range of quark masses. We find that in quenched approximation (no internal fermion loops) the spectra of both theories are well described by 't Hooft's 1/N expansion for QCD2. (orig.)
