Aberrations in Holography
Description
The Seidel aberrations are described as they apply to holography. Methods of recognition of an aberrated holographic reconstruction are described, as well as a recognition of the type of aberration. Experimental and theoretical strategies to minimize aberrations are discussed, including geometric considerations in the recording and reconstruction of holograms. Aberrations due to the recording of a hologram with one wavelength and reconstructing of it in another is also examined.
