Operator spectra in q-oscillator algebras
Description
Spectra of the operator Xp = qpN(a+ + a)qpN where p is an element of R were studied for the q-deformed oscillator algebra. This operator tends to the position operator of the usual quantum harmonic oscillator if q → 1. The spectra depend on the values of q and p. The operator Xp can be bounded or unbounded; in the latter case the operator is not self-adjoint and has infinitely many self-adjoint extensions. 4 refs
