Report on second version of Japanese evaluated nuclear data library, JENDL-2

The second edition of Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library, JENDL-2, has been compiled. In this paper, the content of JENDL-2, the characteristics, and the remarks for use are described. 180 nuclides and the data up to the energy of 20 MeV are contained in JENDL-2. Using the ENDF/B-4 format. The physical quantities included in JENDL-2 are total cross section, elastic scattering cross section and its angular distribution, inelastic scattering cross section and its angular distribution, capture cross section, fission cross section, the number of emitted neutrons per fission, (n, 2n) reaction cross section, (n, 3n) reaction cross section, the other reaction cross section, the energy distribution of secondary neutrons, the energy distribution of fission neutrons and resonance parameters. In light nuclei, the features of nuclear data change remarkably from nuclei to nuclei. The tritium production cross section of Li is important, and newly evaluated values are contained. In medium weight nuclei, the properties of nuclei can be fitted by the optical model taking fine structure in consideration. The hydrogen and helium production cross sections of the nuclei in this region are evaluated again in the library. In heavy nuclei, U-235, U-238, Pu-239, Pu-240 and Pu-241 are treated as important nuclei. The bench mark tests for fast breeders reactor, thermal reactors and shielding were performed.
