Photoluminescence of Yttria stabilized zirconia nanoparticles synthesized by vapor phase using CO2 laser
- 1. Laser Materials Processing Division, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)
Description
Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is one of the most studied electrolytes for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) because of its high oxygen ion conductivity. The origin of oxygen ion conductivity is the presence of oxygen vacancies in YSZ and therefore characterization of these oxygen vacancies is important. Photoluminescence (PL) in zirconia is related to the presence of oxygen vacancy and its neighboring structure. Photoluminescence spectroscopy is a very useful tool for studying electronic band structure, defects and chemical composition
