Applied researches on a heavy ion accelerator

Description

Recent research activities are summarized of projects aimed at extending the application of a low energy heavy ion accelerator at Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors (RLNR). A fundamental study of ion beam plasma interactions concerning inertial confinement fusion has been started. As an ion beam application to environmental sciences, a facility of Particle Induced X ray Emission (PIXE) analysis is also being developed. Preliminary results of these researches are reported.
