Particle simulation of collective thermalization in quark gluon plasma

Description

Thermalization of quark gluon plasma produced in heavy ion collisions is studied. A 1+1 dimensional simulation was made of coloured partonic matter using classical equations of motion of a coloured parton in self-consistent coloured fields. In certain parameter domains, the system exhibits chaotic behaviour in non-Abelian plasma oscillations, which then leads to thermalization of the plasma. (author)
