Influence of polymer microgels obtained by γ-ray crosslinking on the rheological properties of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Description

It was found previously that the adding of an optimum quantity of microgel with determined degree of spatial crosslinking to LDPE and PVC improves the tensile strength, elasticity and aging of the film materials, prepared on the basis of the polymers mentioned above. In the present paper the influence of the quantity and degree of spatial cross-linking of the microgel on the rheological characteristics of the compositions is investigated by plastograph 'Brabender'. The observed effects in the rheological behaviour of the compositions with microgel are due probably to the existence of supermolecular structures in their melts. (author)
