Determination of the flux distribution in the void of the reactor cell by equivalent regions method

Description
Full text: This paper contains a study of flux distribution in the void of the reactor cell containing natural uranium rod ru=1.29 cm), channel around the fuel rod (r1=3.5 cm) and graphite moderator (rm=8.9 cm). The void is replaced by equivalent material having only neutron absorption cross section. A homogeneous neutron source is placed in this region, chosen to compensate the number of absorbed neutrons. Atoms of this region change neither the direction nor the energy of neutrons. Spherical harmonics method in P3 approximation was used for solving the problem. Equivalent region was divided into five zones having common absorption cross section 0.1 cm-1. A number of iterations were done to determine the neutron sources in each zone of the equivalent region in order to fulfill the condition of equal number of generated and absorbed neutrons in the unit volume with the minimum error

Pun tekst: U referatu je razmatrana raspodela fluksa na slucaju supljine reaktorske celije sa punim gorivnim elementom od prirodnog urana (ru=1,29 cm), kanalom oko gorivnog elementa (r1=3,5 cm) i grafitom kao moderatorom (rm=8,9 cm). Supljina je zamenjena ekvivalentnom materijalnom sredinom ciji atomi imaju jedino presek za apsorpciju neutrona, i u toj sredini se nalazi homogeni izvor neutrona tako odabran da je broj apsorbovanih neutrona u jedinici zapremine jednak broju nastalih iz izvora. Atomi ove sredine ne menjaju ni pravac ni energiju neutrona. Kao matematicki model za resavanje koriscena je metoda sfernih harmonika i to jednobrzinska P3 aproksimacija. Ekvivalentna oblast je podeljena na pet zona, kojima je pripisan zajednicki presek za apsorpciju od 0,1 cm-1. Izvrseno je vise uzastopnih iteracija sa ciljem da se odrede izvori neutrona u svakoj od zona ekvivalentne oblasti koji bi zadovoljili sa minimalnom greskom postavljen zahtev o jednakosti broja nastalih i apsorbovanih neutrona u jedinici zapremine (author)Additional details
