The National Energy Ombudsman - Activity report 2020
Description
The National Energy Ombudsman is an independent administrative authority that was created by the law of 7 December 2006 relating to the energy sector, in preparation for the imminent liberalisation of the French gas and electricity markets. It has two legal roles: participating in the process of informing consumers about their rights, and recommending solutions for settling disputes. The Ombudsman reports directly to the French Parliament. This report summarizes the 2020 highlights of the national energy ombudsman's activity: 1 - Trust is essential to the successful opening of energy markets to competition: subscribing to a contract must be done in trust, trust is also essential during the duration of the contract, trust must is also of the essence in cases of disputes; 2 - The results of the national energy ombudsman: an increased activity in 2020, key points of 2020, key figures of 2020; annex: generic recommendations issued in 2020, interviews, proposals, red flags, practical cases, focus
