Green Tech: when companies provide solutions to the climate crisis - November 2023
Description
Faced with the urgent challenge of global warming, this study focuses on France's strategy for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. With emissions of 415 MtCO2 eq in 2021, the country needs to reduce its emissions by 12 MtCO2 eq per year, an effort that requires a significant increase in green investments, currently at Euros 84 billion per year. Emphasis is placed on the crucial role of green technologies, both those already mature for the 2030 targets and those still under development for 2050. This transition poses a societal choice between sober behavior and technological innovation. The study examines promising technologies that could contribute to 11% of France's carbon neutrality objective, and reduce the carbon footprint of the French by 8%. Our analysis aims to inform the decisions that are crucial to a sustainable future

Face au defi urgent du rechauffement climatique, cette etude se concentre sur la strategie de la France pour atteindre la neutralite carbone d'ici 2050. Avec des emissions de 415 Mt eqCO2 en 2021, le pays doit reduire ses emissions de 12 Mt eqCO2 par an, un effort qui necessite une augmentation significative des investissements verts, actuellement a 84 Mds Euros par an. L'accent est mis sur le role crucial des technologies vertes, a la fois celles deja matures pour les objectifs de 2030 et celles encore en developpement pour 2050. Cette transition pose un choix de societe entre la sobriete comportementale et l'innovation technologique. L'etude examine des technologies prometteuses qui pourraient contribuer a 11% de l'objectif de neutralite carbone de la France et reduire de 8% l'empreinte carbone des Francais. Notre analyse vise a eclairer les decisions cruciales pour un avenir durable
