Determination of the density matrix spin-tensors of the 12C 4.43 MeV (2+) state in the (3He, α,γ) reaction

Description

Experimental studies on angular correlations in the sup(13)C(sup(3)He, αγ)sup(12)Csub(4.43) reaction at 22.5 MeV energy of 3He ions are conducted for determination of the reaction mechanism. Measurements of double differential cross sections (DC) of the reaction have been carried out in the three planes phi sub(γ)=0.45 and 90 deg in the angular range Qsub(γ) from 19 to 149 deg (phi sub(γ) and Qsub(γ) determine direction of γ-quantum escape in the spherical coordinate system) for four angles Qsub(α)=20, 43, 57 and 160 deg corresponding to angular distribution of the sup(13)C(sup(3)He, αsub(1))sup(12)Csub(4.43) reaction. Spin-tensor values Asub(ke) of matrix of 2+(4.43 MeV) 12C state density formed in the investigated reaction are determined by the obtained values of double DC. Functions of angular correlation W(Qsub(γ), phisub(γ)) are calculated by means of Ake. The analysis of the data obtained proves the earlier made conclusion that processes different from nucleon pick up make noticeable contributon to the mechanism of the 13C(3He, α1)12C* reaction. Particularly, the results of the analysis point out a noticeable contribution of processes associated with delaying in interaction, for example, two-stage processes
