Structural materials for hot nitrate-fluoride solutions
- 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Khimicheskogo Mashinostroeniya, Sverdlovsk (USSR)
Description
03KhN28MDT and 06KhN28MDT iron-nickel alloys compared to 46KhNM and 03KhN60V chromium-nickel alloys have been studied in nitric-fluoride solutions of moderate aggressiveness at 50-100 deg C. The corrosion rate was estimated as a function of temperature and concentration of the aggressive medium. The 03KhN29MDT alloy showed the highest corrosion resistance. The activation of corrosion by chloride ions has been also studied. It was found that the 03KhN28MDT alloy may as well be used in nitric-fluoride-chloride solutions
