On the lower limit for average polarization of nuclear recoil in muon capture

Description
The lower limit for the recoil nuclear polarization in muon capture is shown to be -1/3(Psub(μ)), using the angular momentum coupling scheme. The results are independant of the dynamics of the interaction and nuclear structure. The results hold good for all the partial waves of the emitted neutrino. (author)
