Cs2DyCl5, an ino-chlorodysprosate(III) with extended cis-Zweier-Einfach-chains of octahedra

Description

Cs2DyCl5, colourless, hygroscopic, crystallizes orthorhombic (Pbnm, No. 62, Z = 4) with a = 1523.1, b = 954.9, c = 749.8 pm, Vsub(m) = 164.2 cm3 mol-1. Extended cis-bridged Zweier-Einfach-chains of octahedra sub(infinite)sup(1)[DyCl(1)sub(2/2)Cl(2)sub(2/1)Cl(3)sub(1/1)Cl(4)sub(1/1)] are connected by Cs+. Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, as well as the Madelung Part of Lattice Energy, MAPLE, have been calculated and are discussed. (author)
