Measurement of the K/sub L/0 → π+π-π0 Dalitz plot
Description
A detailed study of the spectrum for the decay K20 → π+π-π0, the Dalitz plot being included. The final results of the fits indicate that a matrix element linear in Y is not adequate to describe the studied decay. The results may be taken not only as evidence for a quadratic matrix element, but they also lend support to the view that final state interactions among the three pions have a small effect upon the physical decay spectrum. Also it is believed that the relatively good agreement between the experimental data and the predictions of current algebra support the current--current type of weak Hamiltonian in hadronic decays.
