Radiative corrections to the e+e-→μ+μ- asymmetry in supersymmetric theories

  • 1. Ecole Normale Superieure, 75 - Paris (France). Lab. de Physique Theorique

Description

A complete calculation of the one-loop radiative corrections to the charge asymmetry of e+e-→μ+μ- in supersymmetric theories is performed at present collider energies. The total correction to the integrated asymmetry never exceeds -0.3% and thus lies below experimental sensitivity, except for a very special limit of some supersymmetric models where we point out the possibility of radiative corrections at the 1% level. Apart from this very special case, the only supersymmetric mechanism which could lead to an experimentally relevant deviation from the standard model prediction for the asymmetry is the tree level effect arising in an extra U(1) induced supersymmetry breaking.
