Three-dimensional calculations of the formation of the presolar nebula from a slowly rotating cloud
Description
Preliminary three-dimensional hydrodynamical calculations of the collapse of slowly rotating interstellar cloud are presented. The calculations include radiative transfer effects in the Eddington approximation, as well as detailed equations of state for the nonisothermal regime of protostellar evolution. The obtained solutions to the calculations show that very slowly rotating clouds (with ratios of rotational energy to gravitational energy of 10 to the -3rd or less) avoid fragmentation and collapse to form single central objects. Such objects contain quasistatic cores with densities of about 10 to the -10 g per cu cm. The contribution of nonaxisymmetry and differential rotation to the gravitational torque and rapid transfer of angular momentum observed in presolar nebula are discussed in detail. 16 references
