Programs for calculating beam orbits in cyclotron, 2
Description
The present article describes the handling of a packet of computer programs which have been developed for orbit calculations of the RIKEN SSC. This packet consists of five independent programs, i.e. ACCEL, INJECT, INJHARM, EXTRACT and EXTHARM. ACCEL deals with the motion of particles which are guided by the magnetic field and accelerated by the radio frequency electromagnetic field. INJECT and INJHARM are used for the beam injection problems. The former calculates beam trajectories passing through injection elements, and the latter the beam centering by use of injection harmonic field. EXTRACT and EXTHARM treats the beam extraction in the same way as INJECT and INJHARM. All the programs mentioned above calculates the motion of particles with time as an independent variable. A small modification allows one to use this program packet for orbit calculations of one's own cyclotron. (author)
