Decontamination method for contaminated surface capable of utilizing decontaminating agents again
Description
Purpose: To efficiently eliminate contaminants and enable to reutilize decontaminating agents used therefor in a facility of handling radioactive materials, poisons, etc. Method: The surfaces contaminated with contaminants are heated by IR heaters. Then, easily melting molten material, for example, paraffins are coated by being blown from a nozzle, the contaminated surfaces are rubbed with a brush to separate the contaminants from the contaminated surface and incorporate them into paraffins. After cooling and solidification of the paraffins, they are stripped off by a scraper, by which contaminant-containing paraffins can be recovered efficiently and decontamination for the contaminated surfaces can be completed. The solidification products can be heated and melted again to separate the contaminants contained therein by filtration and paraffins after separation of the contaminants can be utilized again.
