On the thermoeconomical optimization of heat pipe heat exchanger HPHE for waste heat recovery

A thermoeconomic optimization analysis is presented yielding a simple algebraic formula for estimating the optimum HPHE effectiveness for energy recovery applications. The P1-P2 method is used in the present study, together with the ε-NTU method, for thermoeconomic analysis of a heat pipe heat exchanger, HPHE, of a noncondensing fluid type, i.e. employing water and air
