Procedure for final treatment of radioactive organic material
Description
Radioactive waste e.g. spent ion exchange material is converted into a stable form by a continuous process as follows. Water solution of certain chemicals is mixed with the waste and the radioactive substances are set free. An inorganic sorbent is added, the mixture is dried and calcined placed into a refractory container and heated until the mass turns stable. (G.B.)
