The role of large safety test facilities in the FBR program is projected on the basis of current experience in the LWR program, consideration of the role of the data in the licensing process, and detailed questions arising from analysis in five broad areas. The five areas of interest are: plant protection system; shut-down heat removal; reactivity change mechanisms; partition of energy in an HCDA; and primary system and containment integrity under core melt. 11 refs
