Scaling violation and q2 dependence of structure functions xF3 and F2p - F2n

  • 1. Visvabharati Univ., Santiniketan (India)

Description

From the scaling violation exhibited by the x-distribution of nonsinglet structure functions xF3 and F2p - F2n for different q2, a relation is obtained between f1 and f2 occurring in xF3 and F2p -F2n which can be written as C1xf1(1-x)f2. This relation gives the power of (1-x) in xF3 to be 3, if the power of x is 1/2 and vice versa, for q2=9GeV2. The ratios of anomalous dimensions (PN,/PN) thus obtained for xF3 are compared with the QCD predictions and the experimental results of CDHS and BEBC collaborations. This result for q2-dependence of the nonsinglet structure functions can be utilized to fix the QCD scale parameter. (author)
