The design of the CMS pixel detector system
Creators
Description
The experimental conditions for tracking detectors at small radii in the CMS experiment require the use of pixel detectors. This allows us to deal with high rates and gives the required measurement precision. In our paper, the design of the CMS pixel detector is discussed. The data rate and volume expected at the full LHC luminosity and its implication on the pixel readout chip is presented. Our recent results concerning the radiation induced single event upset rate are shown
