Description and characterization of the BR1 neutron radiography facility

Creators

  • 1. SCK/CEN, Mol, Belgium

Description

The SCK/CEN BR1 nuclear reactor is a natural uranium graphite reactor. This reactor is very well suited for neutron radiography because of the easy access and because of the adequate neutron flux level. The BR1 neutron radiography facility is a dry installation, installed at a tangential beam channel. It has an L/d ratio of 75 and is mostly used for non-destructive control purposes with the direct detection technique. (Auth.)
