Description
We have investigated the temperature (78-295K) and the magnetic field dependence of the Raman active phonons of Pr1-xCaxMnO3 thin films deposited on LaAlO3 substrates for two different Ca concentrations (x=0.5 and 0.6) and for SrTiO3 substrates with x=0.6 at room temperature. The comparison between the two substrates did not show any effect from the strains. At low temperatures close to the phase transitions certain modes are affected by the application of the field (∼1T) produced by permanent magnets, indicating possible spin coupling with the lattice
