Description

Consideration is being given to peculiarities of operation, field of application and prospects of using spectrometers with Vasilov-Cherenkov radiation ring registration. Spectrometers, using multistage proportional and drift chambers with photosensitive additions as photodetectors, as well as position sensitive vacuum photodetectors are described. The main elements of considered spectrometers are the following: radiator, where Vasilov-Cherenkov radiation occurs during particle passing, spherical mirror, focusing radiation to the ring and position sensitive photodetector, located in the focal plane of the spherical mirror. Ring radius and position of its center, definitively related to particle velocity and to the angle of inclination of its trajectory to spectrometer axis, are measured for single-charged particles. The described spectrometers are used in experiments with accelerators of charged particles with fixed target and in colliding beams
