Radiation-Induced Cancer

Description
The Symposium on Radiation-Induced Cancer was organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency in collaboration with the World Health Organization. It was attended by 84 participants from 23 countries and a total of 36 papers from 14 countries were presented. Rapid developments in nuclear science are widely expanding the practical applications of ionizing radiations and radioisotopes for human welfare in medicine, industry and agriculture. At the same time great efforts are being made to ensure that these applications do not cause any hazardous exposure to the personnel involved and that they do not lead to contamination of the environment.
