Nuclear medicine is a product of nuclear physics achievements
Description
A rapid progress in the nuclear physics and nuclear technology fields and production of the artificial radionuclides led to extension of the scope of radioactivity phenomenon application, including the medicine. The medical radiology, radiobiology and radionuclide diagnostics currently achieved a significant success and became independent clinical and scientific domain. A rapid development of the radionuclide diagnostics resulted in a progress of such fundamental sciences as the nuclear physics, chemistry, biology and the clinical medicine as well. The distinctive feature of the radionuclide diagnostics is its unusual scope of capabilities, beginning from comprehensive investigation of biochemical structures and ending by a study of anatomical state of a body. A significant experience is gained in different clinical fields, such as cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, neurosurgery, and etc. The radionuclide diagnostic testing plays a great role in the oncology when the tumour diseases are revealed
