Description
Angular distributions of elastically scattered 3He particles from 12C and 16O nuclei were measured at an incident energy of 40.9 MeV. The absolute differential cross-section data obtained have been analysed in terms of the optical model with emphasis on the investigation of the discrete ambiguity in the real potential and of the form of the imaginary potential. The data for the nuclei studied were sufficient to eliminate the discrete ambiguity in the strength of the optical potential. The result of the analyses showed that the potentials with Jsub(R) is approximately equal to 430 MeV fm3 including the surface-absorptive term provide the best fits to the large-angle elastic scattering data.
